 PASTOR VAUGHN CRAWFORD

Pastor Vaughn Crawford was born May 29, 1956 in Macon, Georgia.  He has been laboring in God’s service over 25 years.

Pastor Crawford graduated from Central High School; he later enlisted in the US Army.  While serving in the US Army, Pastor Crawford received many awards, one of his accomplishments while stationed in West Germany was “Soldier of the Year” in 1976.  He was honorable discharged from the US Army as a Spec Four.

Pastor Crawford furthered his education after returning to Macon by completing four years at Macon Technical College where he studied Barbering and Brick Masonry.  He also attended Ash Street Church of God in Christ Bible School. 

Pastor Crawford became a born again believer and member of Dry Branch Church of God in Christ in 1978; January 1979 he received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost.  He was appointed Church Deacon in October 1979, the Lord called Deacon Vaughn Crawford to the ministry in 1981.  In 1983 Pastor Crawford was licensed by his Pastor, the late Superintendent Eugene J. Jones (Jurisdictional Treasurer).  After the demise of Pastor Jones, Minister Vaughn Crawford became the interim Pastor.  He was appointed Pastor

August 26, 1984 by the late Cephas J. Hicks, Jurisdictional Bishop.

Pastor Crawford has served and still serves in many capacities.  In March 1988 he was appointed chairman of the Four Square District under the leadership of Superintendent Jack Stephens.  Pastor Crawford served on the Elder’s Ordination Board and composed the questions used on the written examine.  In July 2002 Pastor Crawford was appointed Assistant Jurisdictional Treasurer, Personal Aid to the Jurisdictional Bishop and Chairman of Public Relations.  After the demise of the late Jurisdictional Secretary (William Greene), Pastor Crawford was appointed by Bishop Jack Stephens to the position of Jurisdictional Secretary of Southern Georgia Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction.

Since Pastor Crawford has been at Dry Branch Church of God in Christ, the church has gone through many changes.  In April 2006 a new Sanctuary was dedicated, October 2007 the old church was refurbished and made into a Fellowship Hall.  June 2008 Day Care Center,

Community Life Day Care is in the process of being built.   

In March 2007 Dry Branch Church of God in Christ name was officially changed to Community Life Church of God in Christ, Inc.            

Pastor Crawford is the husband of one wife, Shirley who loves and supports him in all that he does.  He is the father of two children, Detra and Vaughn Jr.; he is the grandfather of seven.
